BECAUSE YOUR ART CAN STILL LEAVE THE HOUSE.
You binged Tiger King and scrolled Instagram long enough to consider downloading TikTok . Now what?
Well, you could start on that batch of banana bread OR you could make something you might actually enjoy. (That’s where we come in!)
We are undoubtedly living in unprecedented times. Most of the numbers surrounding COVID-19 are a grim confirmation of just that. Since March we’ve been ordered to shelter-in-place with the hope of seeing those grim numbers drop.
As a result, amidst the tragedy of a global pandemic, the environment is thriving. Carbon emissions are down and both the Venice canals and the Himalayas are visible for the first time in decades.
One of the amazing things about what’s happening isn’t that the earth is creating anything new, but that it simply has space again to return to itself. And out of that return the world is creating for itself the very things that offer life.
QUARANZINE is an invitation to do the same. In the new rhythm of our days we are invited to return to ourselves and celebrate what happens when we do. Consider your boredom an opportunity to create that which might offer you life, because unlike us our art can actually leave the house.
AND WHO KNOWS. Maybe we can print this bad boy and give the proceeds to COVID relief efforts. IDK. All I know is that we are celebrating our return and making a mini museum of these trying times.
